Our team is expanding rapidly to meet the growing market demand. We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager who is enthusiastic and motivated to work with our management team to help drive new business and expand our customer base.
About the Role
The primary task of this role is to bring in new prospects in construction and building materials industries, including finding them, getting in-front of them to demonstrate our service and how we will meet their needs, and converting them into a client.
As a business development manager of an e-commerce platform, you will:
- Develop new business opportunities and executing a strategy to acquire new clients and partners;
- Use multiple channels to contact and visit local importers and exporters to introduce and sign up for www.builditmarket.com.au platform services (membership registration, business advisory and other value-added services);
- Manage all stages of the sales cycle including coordinating the sales process and tracking all opportunities;
- Demonstrating our teams’ strategic advisory and networking capability and the features of our B2B platform to clients.
- Analyze customer needs, summarize market & industry trends, and use knowledge of import/export trade & e-commerce to develop customers’ online B2B import and export business activities;
- Maintain good customer relationships with excellent customer care capabilities.
- Lead marketing, including tactical planning of approach and implementation
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years business development and/or sales experience in the local market and in construction industry.
- Familiar with the sales process of SMEs or B2B from lead generation to closing deals with existing sales track record.
- Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills.
- Target driven and persuasive, with proven negotiating skills.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and driven attitude.
- Strong sales knowledge and an understanding of what influences client purchasing decisions.
- Priority is given to candidates with experience in international trade exhibition and e-commerce promotional activities.
- Ability to withstand pressure and work within required deadlines.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Priority is given to having a deep understanding of Vietnamese culture or being fluent in Vietnamese & English.

Note: There will be a requirement to be in the office at least two days per week so we would expect applicants to be based in Melbourne. Only applicants with full-working rights in Australia will be considered.
